Seeker wins Champagne Race!!

After a light wind start, Seeker used a loop hole in the Champagne Race Official Rules and under spinnaker power crossed the finish line in Willsboro Bay somewhere around 2 hours after starting. Just behind was Wingdam, followed by a match race between Radiant and Secrets, with Radiant winning the battle. Behind that duel, Mame wisely stayed back to claim the 5th place bottle. Wind Seeker, off to a late start due to missing crew, arrived just prior to the 4PM deadline to gather the last place bottle. The awards ceremony began promptly late at 4:15, where the Race Committee used a loophole to award 2nd place an empty bottle, as the "1st place of the losers". ( Thanks Mike Barker for being a good sport) ... As the rain sprinkles began, the Champagne poured, priming the crowd for the following burger burn. The rain came down hard after dinner, sending all participants back to the boat for a well deserved rest after such a tough day of racing.
