LADIES’ CUP RACE • TED BROOKS TROPHY • 1968-91 – First Boat to Finish on Corrected Time 1992-After – First Boat to Finish 36th Consecutive Awarding – 2003 Theodore F. Brooks of St. Albans presented the club with the Ted Brooks Perpetual Trophy on April 27, 1968 in memory of his wife, Evelyn, to be awarded annually to the boat which finished first on corrected time in the Ladies’ Cup Race, the winner to have his boat’s name, year, and club initials engraved thereon annually, the LCYC to retain possession. [This text written by Commodore John W. Williams in 1968.] In 1992 the Board of Governors voted that this trophy would henceforth be awarded to the boat that finished first overall in the Ladies’ Cup Race when it changed the awarding of the Ladies’ Cup to the boat that finished first on corrected time.
