LCYC 2005 Junior Sailing Program

 

In order to enroll your child in the LCYC 2005 Junior Sailing Program, please fill out completely the Summer 2005 Application, the Confidential  Medical Information and the Waiver of Claims.  The 2005 Summer Schedule and Fees are listed below.

Eligibility:

   

 

Important:  Participants must be able to swim.  A swim test will be given on the first day of each session.  Participants must come to class every day with an approved life preserver (Type II or Type III).  

Beginner: anyone age 8 -17 who can swim and wants to learn to sail.   Intermediate: anyone age 11-17 who has some sailing experience and wants to improve their sailing ability.                                                        
Advance:
  anyone who has developed the basic skill of sailing and would like to perfect their sailing technique. .                                       
Racing Team:
  anyone who has interest and qualifies to compete.               
Groups:
Youngsters will be placed into one of five groups based on their age and their level of experience or competence. 

Luke Wight,  our head instructor, will make the final determination of  placement, as appropriate.

 

Costs: Price includes a LCYC Junior Sailing T-shirt.

Head Instructor: 

Luke Wight has grown up sailing and has already proven himself as an accomplished sailor, competing in many championships in New Jersey, the New England Championships and the Atlantic Coast Championships.  He has 5 years of experience as a junior sailing instructor and was the intermediate and advance racing coach at Bay Head Yacht Club in New Jersey.  He attends Stonehill College in Massachusetts.

   

 

 

All instructors are US SAILING Certified Level 1 Instructors.
